Previously, Welsh founded a nationally-focused, executive recruiting practice where he worked with corporate clients throughout the United States to add superstar talent to their organizations. He also coached individuals to grow their own successful careers, led corporate training seminars and presented to management teams at annual, company meetings.

He is a native of Cleveland and spent the first 18 years of his life in northeast Ohio.
