The Pro Podcastrig Rev.1 features versatile recording options due to the Telos One Digital Telephone Hybrid. This component is used extensively by NPR to receive and record high quality telco audio.

Also included in this rig is the Mackie Onyx 1220 Mixer that supports an optional Firewire Bus, the industry standard Electrovoice RE-20, and the Aphex 240 dual logic assisted gate/compressor. Aphex uses proprietary compression parameters that simplify 240 configuration. For example: as the drive setting is increased, gain reduction is increased. This results in an increased level of compression. Speed [release] and Output Gain can be adjusted accordingly. I’m fond of this approach. This is a dual channel processor and it is possible to process two channels independently.

Bias Peak Pro 5 offers innovative recording and processing options, including efficient RMS Normalization. This form of normalization increases the average loudness, or the power of the audio. This is very different compared to typical peak normalization.

Optional Accessory:

Electrovoice 309A Suspension Shock Mount for the RE-20 Mic
