PNME 2007 #26: Podcasting for Teachers: Applications for Teachers and Learners (K-12 Emphasis)
Podcast and New Media Expo 2007: In this session designed specifically for K-12 educators, vendors serving k-12 education institutions, administrators, staff developers, and instructional technology specialists, we discuss the Types of K-12 Podcasting- what, why, how, and impact. It also provides a “roll call” and discussion of best practices in educational podcasting from the panelists’ perspectives. We show a streamlined approach to podcasting and providing resource lists for participants to take away. The panelists discuss applications of podcasting for teachers and learners and assist in facilitating great dialogue with the participants. Special topics covered include student-created podcasts, teacher-created podcasts, using existing podcasts across content areas, podcasts for teacher professional development, approaches to podcasting, and podcasting resource sharing. Instructors: Dr. Kathleen King and Mark Gura of Fordham University, Dan Bach of Diablo Valley College and Dan’s Mathcast, and Dr. Joselyn Todd of Cary Academy.
