		<description>Of course this depends on your needs, but if you need a truely lossless compression scheme for intermediary codec, maybe to send files over the net or something, why not use FLAC? It's free, you can encode/decode, it handles 16-bit and 24-bit as well as loads of sampling rates, it compresses somewhere to somewhere betwee 50-75% of the original size, and it is TRUELY LOSSLESS. I archive all of my original files this way. Also, there are plugins for WMP and WinAMP among others that will let FLAC files be played directly without decoding to WAV first (well, of course that's happening in the plugin, but you don't have to worry about it). Anyway, just something to consider. Audiofiles have been using SHN and FLAC for years to transfer lossless copies of audio masters.</description>
