If you are looking for a mixer with USB I/O, the Yamaha MW 10 may be worth looking into. This model looks to be very similar to the MG 10 which is included in two of my recommended systems here at Podcastrigs. 44.1/48 kHz 16 bit USB audio [ver.1.1], inserts for external processors and Cubase LE included. MSRP $199 US. Check out the cool pdf.

Rami PJO-550 Pro Mixer Update …

Back in November I posted some info about this cool piece here. It looks like the mixer is finally becoming available. I should have more info and estimated price shortly. The Rami site has detailed information available and a direct link to the user manual.

Update: Wow. Just heard back from Rami. 1175 Euros = $1400 US. This is *double* the price I anticipated.

Sony Japan formally announced the new MZ-RH1 minidisc recorder today. Details on US availability are sketchy. Looks like early summer, and the rumored price is $300. There are some very important features worth mentioning. The recorder is capable of uploading old SP and MDLP material via USB 2.0 as well as Hi-MD. A normalizer can be engaged to mange playback levels, full AGC input support and Mac compatible software out of the box.[I have been waiting for this]. Also available in black aluminum.
