Yamaha Mixers Added to Podcastrigs Systems

I decided to add 2 new mixers from Yamaha to the Basic and Ultra Systems here at Podcastrigs. Both mixers contain Channel Inserts which will offer direct processor integration on a specific channel. The original mixer that was part of these systems did not have channel inserts.

Anyone know the best way to hook the VX2496 device into this MG10/2 mixer? I’m thinking of getting a VX2496 to add to my mixer but not sure how I’d hook it up and what cables and how many of them to use…

Use the channel insert on your Mic channel. An insert cable is required for this:

Do you mean the INSERT I/O socket that can be found on channel 1 or 2? So the cable would be this one?

And does it go into the Send and Return INSERT sockets on the VX2496?

I presume this then dedicates this effector to the single condenser mic that you’ll have plugged into the VX2496?

Finally, the manual seems to be showing that you can connect it up via the Aux Send and Return jack points near the headphone socket on the MG10/2? Would this set up work for the whole mixer before going off to the audio interface that connects with my firewire socket to my ibook rather than dedicated to just the microphone?

If so, would it be the same cable as above?
