I decided to add 2 new mixers from Yamaha to the Basic and Ultra Systems here at Podcastrigs. Both mixers contain Channel Inserts which will offer direct processor integration on a specific channel. The original mixer that was part of these systems did not have channel inserts.

Mackie Onyx Mixers and Effects Processor Integration

The VX 2496 vocal processor is now part of the Basic System Rig due to the discontinuation of the Behringer VX2000. The new processor features a compressor, equalizer, de-esser and expander. It also includes 24-bit/96 kHz AES/EBU output with selectable sample rates and +48V phantom power. MSRP. $99

Coming in late April is the Saffire audio interface by Focusrite. The firewire device has on-board DSP including compression and equalization. Stay tuned for a full review based on first hand testing.
