I enthusiastically awaited the R-1 nd put it to work right away.
After a few recordings I relegated it to backup recording, in case my laptop crashes. Mini input only, add an external mic and I was never happy. I've told my friends it's a toy. One annoyance, it doesn't time stamp the files so after you use the R-1 on a couple of interviews you can't tell what's on the CF card; it creates sequential filenames, but with out a date and time stamp, I'm lost. Very cute, I'm sure they'll sell plenty. I add it to the long list of equipment I've purchased that I've abandoned in my quest for a high quality podcast studio.
